One of the things Jason & I liked about our neighborhood as we were looking for houses was the fact that there was a neighborhood pool. Last summer, we only took advantage of it 2, maybe 3 times. This summer is a whole different story!
We incorporate the pool into our daily walk. We walk the long way there, stop at the pool, lay out and cool off in the water a few hours and then take the short way back. It's a fun little task that we've added to our schedule this summer. I am really loving it--basking in the sun, reading books, relaxing. What's better? That's what summer is for!
This week we had the joy of having one of my longest friends come with her 2 girls and enjoy the pool with us! It was such a fun day! Julip and Eloise loved the pool and we loved having them. The pool takes on a whole new meaning when you have kids with you :)
They loved having Jason throw them in the air!

and Little Miss Eloise
Julip had so many "water tricks" she kept us entertained the whole afternoon!
I always love seeing these sweet friends! Unfortunately the 10 hour drive between us makes these visits few & far between. But, we cherish them all the more when we have the opportunity!
Last night we had our 4th of July Celebration at the church.
We had a delicious pot luck meal followed by a wonderful guest speaker, Major General Collins. He was wonderful! It was exactly what I needed to get my heart in the right place for this celebration we have tomorrow. It's so important for us to remember (& be thankful for) all the people, present and past, who risk their lives daily for my freedom. What an amazing place we live in!
