Two of our very best friends got married this weekend and it was lovely!
From the rehearsal, to the bridesmaids brunch, to the ceremony and reception, it couldn't have been better.
The rehearsal dinner was at the Capital Club in Jackson.
It was such a fun venue--very elegant, really great food and to top it off, being able to see the Jackson skyline from wherever you sat was pretty amazing.
I have to thank the Underwoods, again, for such a lovely evening.
Rehearsal dinners are always my favorite part of wedding weekends.I love hearing how the couple has touched various people's lives.
It's always such a sweet evening.
The next morning, we had The Bridesmaids Brunch at Melissa's house. A house that I've spent many a nights at playing games and enjoying cookouts with her family.
We all came in our PJ's, make up free, ready to just enjoy each other's company and have "the ultimate girl time"
This spread was so delicious--and beautiful!
The bride, with her mother and all the Aunts.
These are Ian's 2 Aunts and his sister. They are holding Melissa's gift that she gave to Ian for their wedding. It's a little blanket made from his mother's clothing--such a sweet way to remember her.
Melissa also had cake pulls for us to do.
This was so fun!
If you are unfamiliar with what a cake pull is...this is the best explanation I could find: "Most popular in the South, especially around New Orleans, the Cake Pull gets it’s roots from an old Victorian tradition of “ribbon pulling.” In those days, charms of luck and good fortune were placed into the wedding cake by the bride for her single friends. Now a days, bakers place sterling silver charms with specific means inside the bottom layer of the bride’s cake and all the single ladies are given the opportunity to pull a charm from the cake (a ceremony called the “ribbon pull”) just before the cake is cut." We obviously didn't do it with her wedding cake and it wasn't just single ladies--but it was so fun! I got the key, which meant I would have security.
Many girl group pictures have been taken on this couch.
Friends for 13 years.
The wedding day!Ah, it was perfect.
The weather held off until all the pictures were done and even then, it didn't stay too long.
It was a beautiful ceremony and a great reception, a true celebration.
Absolutely stunning!
Her one food request at the reception? To make sure she got her fried dill pickles, of course.
"Have I told you lately that I love you?"
"Sweet Melissaaaaaa"
I love this picture.
The Lord is so good and I am so thankful that he's provided these men in our lives. Especially the one of the far left ;)
