Another excuse to make it down to New Orleans--it's looking like that's going to be a regular occurrence for us and I am definitely okay with that.
This time around we went down for the weekend for Jazz Fest.
If you're wondering what turned this idea into action it was 3 things for me: a weekend with my amazing fiancé' and best friends in New Orleans, good food, and JOHN MAYER (along with other amazingly talented artists).
We were eager to get down there because being school teachers, we can't just take off work for such fun events such as this--so we were ready to roll as soon as school was out and pushing to make it to New Orleans by 5:00 when John Mayer started.

As would be expected--he was amazing. |
The only downfall was that it didn't last all night long. |
We got up the next morning ready to tackle the day--it was supposed to rain, unfortunately. But we were ready for a day full of music nonetheless!
Another new tradition--making it to Croissant D'Or for breakfast.
We wanted Melissa and Ian to experience this amazing place and have some reminiscing of our own from our engagement weekend.
Almond Croissant, please!
Love this man! |
Before heading out to the fairgrounds, we wanted to take advantage of the gorgeous day we had and walk to the market
Jason and I made our way to the festival for the rest of the day.
It was hot, there was great music, and good food--with a side of interesting people to wash it all down with. It was a really great day!
We ended the night seeing BILLY JOEL--I can assure you, every. single. person. at the festival was at his performance--it was absurd. He was great!
Jason having his first meat pie. It sounds gross but I PROMISE you, they are A MUST if you go to Jazz Fest. |
Billy Joel, the man. |
It was a fun trip with great friends.
Always a good time in New Orleans!
